OUR
COMMUNITY
Spalding
Energy in the community
After
undertaking a Community Needs Assessment, Spalding Energy has
identified employment diversification and the potential loss of
young talented people from the area, education and road safety
as the main significant regional issues.
Education
Spalding
Energy has fostered strong educational links with the community.
A bespoke education programme ‘Norm’s World’
has been developed with an educational expert to deliver a workshop
based on the UK national curriculum. This programme runs throughout
the year with the local primary schools.
Road
Safety
Spalding
Energy supports the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership.
The Partnership sees engineers, police officers, probation officers,
health advisers and council officials combine resources, skills
and knowledge to work together to try to improve road safety in
the county that, prior to the project being formed, Lincolnshire
had one of the worst Killed and Serious Injured records in Europe
per head of population. Spalding Energy has provided the partnership
with a vehicle to enable their important road safety messages
to be delivered across the county. The links with the partnership
have been further strengthened by a bespoke display and meeting
vehicle that will allow smaller businesses, communities and education
establishments to be visited.
Training
Spalding
Energy is committed to the development of an apprenticeship-training
program that sponsors local students to attend college; train
onsite with highly trained technicians and Engineers and develop
skills in preparation for opportunities both within Spalding Energy
and the employment market.
